L'Atelier La Mission du LAtelier 1959

chocolatenutsspice

Pete Johnson, the mastermind behind Tatuaje, has a lesser-known experimental brand called L'Atelier, where he crafts unique and unconventional cigars. One of its spin-offs is La Mission L'Atelier, a distinctive cigar featuring a box-pressed shape with a squared profile and a pigtail cap. The 1959 size has garnered attention for its consistent performance and rapid rise in popularity, earning a spot on the Top 25 list in 2015 and climbing 13 positions higher upon its return. La Mission L'Atelier boasts a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos, courtesy of the Garcia family, with the exception of the wrapper. The filler includes the Sancti Spiritus varietal, adding depth to the overall profile. The smoking experience is marked by intriguing contrasts, with sweet caramel notes offset by salty undertones, and nutty flavors countered by spicy accents. As the flavors interact, they ultimately settle into a satisfying finish, characterized by the richness of chocolate-covered almonds. The name "1959" pays homage to the year that marked the end of the Cuban Revolution, which in turn sparked the emergence of a new premium cigar industry outside of Cuba. The combination of Mexican wrapper and Nicaraguan tobacco is not new, but La Mission L'Atelier's take on this blend is innovative and yields an exceptional result.
